Hosting an Alice in Wonderland tea party isn't a new idea, its probably one of the most popular tea party themes. But I wouldn't be a true Disney fan and tea lover if I didn't host an Alice and Wonderland tea party of my own, and it probably won't be my last.

It was fun taking a trip down the rabbit hole and reliving these memories to write this post. This party was the first tea party I put together and is from my 23rd birthday, March 2019.

I decided on a light blue and pink theme for my Alice in Wonderland Tea party. I kept the decorations pretty simple because I was a busy collage student. I made the birthday banner using light blue cardstock, black cardstock and small white paper dollies. I printed and cut out the letters from word. I made my own templates for the banner and bows. My favorite part was creating a paper Alice dress for the center.

For the table I used a blue plastic table cloth. My dishes are teal so they matched the party theme perfectly, under each plate I placed a large white paper doily. Each place setting had a unique tea cup and a menu.

I always enjoy theming a menu to match the celebration. For this party I even created a menu for each place setting. One of my favorite things I made for this menu was bread & butterfly tea sandwiches, it was a fun play on the bread-and-butterflies from the movie.

I ran out of time when I was putting together this party so a few little details got left out. I wanted to write "EAT ME" on each of the petite fours but they still looked and tasted delicious.

Scones are an afternoon tea classic so I had to have them at my tea party. I made classic English tea scones and served them with clotted cream, lemon curd and strawberry jam.

I need to give a shout out to my friend Emily who helped me bring this party to life by spending days with me in the kitchen baking.

My parities are always an excuse for me to get dressed up. I loved putting together this Alice Tea party inspired outfit for the occasion.

I always enjoy looking back on pictures and the memories we made. I love that in this picture you can see that I rearranged my entire apartment to host this party. I moved my couches into the kitchen the table into the living room so I would have more space.

Save this image on Pinterest if you want inspiration for hosting your own Alice in Wonderland tea in the future. Have a magical day!

Love,

Meredith Joy
